Whether it is local communities, the press or customers – a new location is of interest to many stakeholders and a ground-breaking ceremony is the ideal opportunity to provide information and establish local press contacts. STROOMER took care of the media relations regarding the event for GLS Germany.
Big, high-performance and green: GLS is building one of its largest German locations in Essen. Sustainability plays a crucial role for the company – during construction, while creating large habitats for the newts and toads living on the site, and for its operation in the future. For the ground-breaking ceremony, it was important to inform relevant stakeholders and spark their interest, generate a positive response and convey the sustainability aspects.
The first step was the invitation – and everything that that is encompassed in that: writing the text, selecting relevant recipients, sending out the invites and following up. Next was the event: with all facts and figures prepared. Materials for illustration. Handouts – including information about newts and toads. And last, but not least: distribution of the press release throughout Germany, implementation of the news on the website and a report in the customer magazine.
Around 20 target media reported on the story. We reached more than 200,000 readers. The messages of quality and sustainability as core values of GLS were successfully conveyed.
